Insulation so good it should be used everywhere

Originally developed for NASA's Apollo missions, thermal reflective insulation technology delivers the best temperature control known as well as a host of other benefits to installers and customers.  

Conventional insulation relies on the trapping of air within a thick layer of fibers, such as rock-wool and fiberglass. R-value increases as the thickness of the insulating layer is increased, but degrades over time as moisture accumulates among the fibers. This type of insulation works by absorbing the heat energy that reaches it, which is why thicker layers insulate better. Conventional insulation is expensive to transport and requires special handling during installation. It also requires the installation of a separate vapor barrier.

Polynum^TM thermal reflective insulation is different. Only a few millimeters thick, it is made of two highly reflective sheets of aluminum film that have been bonded together. This amazing material reflects more than 97 percent of the thermal energy that reaches it. In hot weather, almost all the sun's energy bounces back into the atmosphere. The opposite happens in cold weather: almost all the heat generated inside the building is retained, whether produced by a heating system, people or livestock. Polynum^TM thermal reflective insulation works on a completely different principle than conventional insulation: rather than absorb heat energy, it reflects the heat energy that reaches it.

Polynum^TM thermal reflective insulation has other advantages too: It prevents the passage of interior water vapor into the building's thermal envelope while allowing moisture trapped within the envelope to exhaust to the building's exterior, thereby eliminating the need for a separate vapor barrier. It is non-toxic, non-carcinogenic, discourages bacteria growth and is inhospitable to insects and rodents.
